Transmission choices for the 2.4-liter include a six-speed manual or CVT, and the 3.5-liter is backed by a six-speed automatic with sport mode.
It's possible that a turbocharged 1.5-liter I-4 used in the new Civic and CR-V crossover could replace the naturally aspirated 2.4-liter for the next-generation Accord. The new Accord could also adopt the new Odyssey minivan's revised 3.5-liter V-6, which makes 280 hp and 262 lb-ft, and is mated to a new 10-speed automatic in higher trims. (The Pilot uses a six-speed auto in lower trims and the Odyssey will use a nine-speed in lower trims)
The Honda Accord is the first of its kind. Do not be surprised to see a redesigned Accord Hybrid model carryover.
